Last Saturday was Trophy Day and if you were not at footy last week, please ask your Coach for a trophy at training this Saturday.

Sharks Auskick is closely drawing to a close with only 2 more trainings to go….. and what a fabulous, action-packed, game-turning year we’ve all enjoyed.  SSFC would like to extend a huge Thank you to our Sponsors & volunteers…..We are fortunate as a club to have so much support from the community, not just volunteers but also from our corporate partners as sponsors in 2016 – National Australia Bank, Dallas Restaurant and Bar, Caterpillar, Visy, Telstra, Fitness First, and of course, the Australian International School, who allow us to use their first class facilities each week. Thank you also to the many in kind sponsors who were so generous throughout 2016.  A big thank you to these sponsors and many ‘in-kind’ sponsors who help us ‘make it happen for the kids & Club’ with their generosity.  Thanks again to everybody who make the Singapore Sharks community such a significant and enjoyable part of our lives in Singapore!

From the Oval

What a massive day it was for the Singapore Sharks Football Club on Saturday with Trophy Day, photos and a swim carnival happening on site. What a great way to taper off the year with coaches presenting trophies to Auskickers for all of their hardwork and commitment throughout the season. Thanks again to parents and coaches for giving up your Saturday afternoon to bring your kids down to the club to play and learn every week. It still humbles me that we’ve got 300+ strong kids playing our nation’s greatest game here in Singapore.

The weekend saw some normality restored to session except with added game time. Our objective has always been for kids to get as much touch as possible with the ball and this is something that has proved right with the gradual increase in skills. This week, we will continue with our standard warm ups but move into a round robin with each age group. Please ensure your child is on time so we can allocate them a team and we can get as many games in as possible. I also encourage your child to wear their AFL team colours this weekend to celebrate the nearing of the end of season. If your child does not have a Guernsey their Sharks top is fine.  I look forward to seeing you all out there in a sea of AFL colours on Saturday,

Coach Murph

From the Gym

Last Saturday was trophy day for the under 5’s and under 6’s! Both sessions started off with a game of full forwards and full backs followed by some small group work. The activities involved handballing, gathering, kicking and marking skills. We again used past activities including targets, and more recent ones which involve taking a big mark on the crash mat and climbing over some of the gym equipment while keeping the football in hand. On completing the activities, all the kids headed outside to receive their trophy and get a photo with their teammates and coaches! With two more weeks to go, I’d again like to thank all the coaches and parents for their continued help and support throughout the season.

Cheers, Coach Stevo

Sharks Auskick Photo Album – Team shots 2016

Throughout the course of the Auskick program, dozens of photos (thank you to the Mums and Dads who have contributed) have been taken to capture the great times our Sharks kids have enjoyed.  Please note that these photos can be found here - well worth a squiz!
