Singapore Sharks Season Update and Important Dates to Note

The 2018 season is well underway with very healthy numbers attending our first 2 Saturday sessions. We welcome numerous new members and it is great to see new families adding to the wonderful Sharks community. We have 300 + registrations already and I wish to say thank to the Sharks Committee for a great deal of hard work in the background. As always we are very fortunate to have the facilities at AIS and are grateful for the excellent relationship between the Sharks and the school.

For those who ordered new uniforms, we expect these to be ready by week 4 on the schedule and we will have these with you as soon as possible. Timing is impacted by production over Chinese New Year.

Please note that there will NOT be a session this weekend over Chinese New Year

The season schedule is available on the website and I encourage you all to review this and to keep up to date with any other developments on the Singapore Sharks Facebook page (just search for Singapore Sharks on Facebook). I am very pleased to make you aware of 3 key events / dates:

1. Saturday May 5th - Singapore Sharks Annual Dinner with special guest, AFL legend, Peter Daicos.
Peter will also take Sharks training for all age groups along with coaches Murph and Brad on the Saturday afternoon. On Friday evening, May 4th, Peter will also be at Dallas Boat Quay to watch Friday night footy with what I hope will be a large number of the Sharks community

2. Saturday May 26th - Hong Kong tour to Singapore. We are expecting a large contingent from our traditional rivals and will have a selection of matches across different age groups.

3. Saturday 30 June - Sharks tour to Melbourne. Thanks to Graeme Rigg we have a schedule that will see the Sharks kids play against 2 suburban clubs in Melbourne on Friday evening and Sunday morning. On the Saturday, we will have our Sharks play at half time on the magnificent MCG during the match between Carlton and the mighty Port Adelaide.

More details to follow in the weeks ahead on the specifics and logistics of each of these.

Please also take note of the Friday night footy dates on the schedule where the club will provide BBQ and beverages and these nights continue to grow in popularity for the whole family.

All is set for a brilliant 2018 season and as a committee, we continue to be focused on providing a real value for money sporting environment so our kids can play and enjoy the greatest game of all.

See you at the footy!
